September 24, 2009

There have been a lot of cool things going on at kaleo the last couple of days. We learned how to operate a variety of the challenge course events, mainly learning how to safely belay on the various stations.
On sunday we got to visit our new churches for the first time. I thought that the service was very good. we stayed for both of the services which i thought was very helpful actaully. Hearing the sermon twice helped me to take in things i would have otherwise overlooked. then after that we headed over to pastor greg's house. him and his wife served us an amazing lunch and we had a good chat and shared a lot of stuff about ourselves. overall it was a very positive experience and i look forward to next sunday very much.
The next day on Monday we left for our hiking trip to climb mount albert edward. this trip was very tiring but very fun. we hiked for 8k the first day, 17k the second day, and 10k the last day. at night we cooked at our little stove thingy and filtered our water very very slowly. the view from the top of the mountain was absolutely incredible. The hike was also a great opportunity to get to know some of the people here better.
Today was also a very cool day, even though i wasnt expecting it. For chapel today we went to the lounge area and had an open prayer and sharing time. hearing about peoples lives back home and opening up to people we have all only known for a short time was amazing.
Well, that was my first real blog adventure. hope you all enjoyed reading it. byebye for now
